Feb. 24, 2010 While the Toyota CEO”s and Presidents are testifying at Congress right this minute days ago a new investigative report comes from a major college which re-created the Toyota sudden acceleration problem. The Toyota executives claim they could not re-create the problem which is of no value as an excuse.
Brian Ross of ABC News spoke with Dave Gilbert from a southern Illinois University and showed proof of the sudden acceleration problems. According to Mr. Gilbert the professor there is a design flaw in the computer system that could cause short circuits and this is caused by moisture or manufacturing flaws.
Gilbert in his test study used a bypass system that recreated the condition of acceleration. The system has flaws and is in need of redesigning due to the lack of safety.
