Toyota Punishes ABC for Investigating Defects

Feb 8, 2010   Toyota Declares War on ABC News!!

TOYOTA Dealers are punishing ABC News for investigating the defects on Toyota vehicles in their reports of the cars’ problems with the braking system. Figures are bouncing around including 14,500 Lexus 250 h hybrids, 437,000 Prius for this year’s model year 2010 world wide.

These Toyota Dealers are a group who are trying to punish ABC News for reporting the safety problems to the American public on their news broadcasts.

The South East Toyota dealers have cancelled advertisements on local ABC stations as stated by Marcia Owne-Reder who is the senior VP at 22 Squared the Atlanta ad agency that handles the account of the 173 dealers.  ABC said she tried to stop the dealers but they have refused.

Should get an Award for saving the Lives of Consumers

So here you have a major corporation that sells defective cars knowningly to the US car market that could cause death or injury and the very American owned dealerships are punishing the news network for reporting the breech of trust that car owners themselves have been saying for years.

Shame on you Toyota – fraud does not pay -nor does retaliation against the very people that discovered the problems  that you refused to fix for years.  Shame on Toyota for neglecting their number one responsibility to any car owner – Safety comes Before Your Brand.

Factually ABC News represented the information about the brake problem correctly

Many say the management of Toyota are to blame for being over confident about their vehicles without proper quality control measures to ensure safety or they would have found the problem and corrected them years ago. Now it is costing them billions more in loss of face, loss of confidence and loss of trust in future sales as well as the more expensive widening number of cars being recalled. At this point they should recall every vehicle made anywhere.

Another problem is the culture of Toyota which has remained secretative even when announcing its apology on a Friday night -with only 2 hours notice to the press on a very slow news night.  Hoping this announcement would be buried in the news.

Toyota has also snubbed the US automakers by making bragging statements on the quality of their vehicles and that it surpassed the US auto makers in sales.  Now Toyota is trying to hide its own failures to live up to its image by punishing and removing ad dollars from ABC News.

The problems with Toyota management now is a lack of trust and the fall out will be a few rolling heads which should be the case as the brand is now worth less than dirt. Toyota’s President has to bow very deeply to keep his head on this massive mistake in ethical business practices and must stop this manufacturing of defective unsafe cars and trucks.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration must now allow this deception to continue and every car should be recalled for it appears to any CIA agent that most of the defective cars were shipped to the US market.

Did we just get Toyota’s junk complete with defects on purpose -from the maker who knew these cars were junk?

Now facing larger and looming class action law suits from the deceptive and continuous marketing of defective cars, this car maker must learn a very valuable and expensive lesson -you do not trick or lie to your customers.

The large class action lawsuits and intensive continuous investigations by Congress will not let Toyota escape with a quick fix until it describes when it knew about the problem, how extensive does the problem exist within the computer software of the vehicles, and why it shipped 5 million defective cars to the United States market.

In Toyota’s quest to conquer the world it has set out in a path to be swallowed by the scorn of accelerating sales rather than ensuring the quality of its product and the safety of its customers.  More stringent controls of defective imports should alert the US government to inspect all imported vehicles and not take the manufacturers word for the safety of foreign products.

Toyota fails to recognize that it was not just ABC News that knew of the defects and reported the news but they should be thankful for the discovery by Brian Ross who has uncovered facts even about the US car makers by his own expertise and experience.  Ross did a story on GM CEO who rode in a corporate jet while the company tanked.

THE DEALERS WHO PULLED ADS FROM ABC NEWS A GROUP OF SOUTHERN TURNCOATS

The Southeast Group Toyota Distributors, LLC., based in Deerfield Beach Florida is the world’s largest independent distributor of Toyotas  and SET sells 20 percent of all the Toyota’s sold in the US market.

Toyota Retaliates Against ABC News for Reporting the Truth About Toyota Brake Problems

In March 2003 SET sank 53 million dollars in a new processing plant near Jacksonville Florida, and distributes Toyotas to Georgia, Northern Alabama, The Carolinas and  Northern Georgia.  This group of unpatriotic turn coats are retaliating against ABC News for reporting the truth about their defective cars.

Ford and GM are looking might good to car buyers and patiotism starts at home.
