I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What’s most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.
After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

It is obvious to corporate sponsors and to Woods himself that he did much damage his image or brand that corporate sponsors had pinned great profits and sales. The corporations such as Nike and their Tiger Woods brand products will take a hit during this recession and Tiger’s break from the golf tournaments.
By carrying on like the Don Juan of Golf -Woods carried himself with much sleazyness and brought shame to his image but more importantly his wife. There is much healing to do in his marriage and if that is every possible his wife’s forgiveness will take time.
The PGA Golf Tour will have to do without their major draw player and struggle to find a replacement for Woods in this messy situation which has been the media focus since his accident in front of his Florida home in November 2009. Woods had just celebrated his 5th Anniversary of marriage with his wife, when he was apparently leaving his home at 2 in the morning after a brawl with his wife over his extramarital affairs.
Woods now leaves the field open for others to share some of the limelight in the PGA and focus on other players. We wish Tiger and his family the best in resolving his issues with affairs and possibly a link to prescription drug use that exploded in the news media following his accident.
