Debt Deal Fall Out

Debt Deal Fall Out

Who Won

Did President Obama win anything in this round?  You don’t win much with a gun pointed at your head and in this deal he had to yield say the democrats for the good of the country.
For the second time in 9 months, President Obama said he ” had to yield” “had to give it up” to the Republicans even though many of his base say he already was leaning too far to the right in policies.

For example, Obama extended the war from Iraq back to Afghanistan, wrote a bill to regulate Wall St full of holes, caved on green jobs, caved on oil leases even after the Gulf oil spill and we are told he should have run as a Republican moderate President.

All this political fall out will come back to bite him and many democrats are calling for a Primary on the incumbent and not giving him a shoe in next years Presidential election.
Obama has a house full of broken promises and last night piled on to banner liberals are yelling today :  He’s Weak, he caves, he has no backbone and he is not fighting for the majority of Americans that gave him a seat at in White House.

To many Americans Obama is the loser, he’s wimpy, he doesn’t fight hard enough, he’s not forceful and he appears like an instructor rather than a President.

Obama appears, talks and cops out on Americans and that is what he is projecting through the media.  Barack Obama needs to spend some face time in front of a mirror and project from the soul he appears to have lost in the President’s Chair.

He very well talks the talk, but he don’t walk the walk to American liberals,  he is a weak democrat with a small d.

The Tea party won their grievances, through forceful bullying tactics and were prepared to sacrifice the whole country, pushing it into a deeper, wider and longer recession never seen in US history.

The stakes were high and they pulled the trigger on Americans, their families, seniors, the jobless and the hurting middle class.  They will not forget this and the political fall out will haunt them.  The anger was so thick in response to the Tea Party and the back lash will be just as damaging to the Republican party come 2012.

The tea party ambitions of a Balanced Budget Amendment, that Ronald Reagan their patron saint rejected in 1987, ties the government to revenues that do not exist in balance with the costs of running the government. Thanks to the Bush Tax Cuts those revenues have been missing in action for 8 solid years and who benefited but the wealthy one percent of Americans, the very rich.

This in effect is putting a limit on spending of all kinds including the military, and no president can declare wars again hopefully and put it on a credit card like George Bush did in 2000.  Bush didn’t have the money to declare war, and 3 to 4 trillion dollars were racked up on his credit card war.

This will not happen again unless some tricky maneuvering by Congress or a threat against the country. Bush then declared war on terrorism and continued to spend on protection like the Homeland Security Department that run on unlimited funding.

President Obama does not like the deal, but what can he do in a Lame Duck session but be open to ridicule that put him in this position which is-his own doing. By leaning to the right he lost the support of his base and he has NOT leaned to the left yet.  Maybe he should try it out for a while, lean to the left and support your base President Obama and no more shellackings.

Who Lost

Americans lost last night, seniors, the disabled, students attending college, kids wanting to go to college, the unemployed and the middle class.  The two self inflicted wounds of a government balancing its priorities which is the military and a bloated system.  The military spending costs 11 billion dollars per month, going to a foreign war, where the US is hated, and betrayed by so called allies.

The 11 billion dollars which is adding to the debt and multiplying like a cancer by compound interest was not cut in this deal.

Americans who are waiting to end the Bush Tax Cuts lost again, the second time in 9 months, there will be no new taxes on the rich, the corporations and the oil companies that made record profits in the 2nd quarter of this year.

The Outcome of the Debt Crisis in Congress

The President

President Obama got what he wanted, supposedly no more debt ceiling approvals for the rest of his first term and  gets to keep running the country’s finances under certain controls. Is that a win for Obama, not really.

Debt Deal Fall Out

The President put himself in that position by as Democrats put it “leaning to far to the right” in his policies and his lack of keeping his promises.  For the most part, the country gave him a Hail Mary Pass again, but his chances of getting another one are far from possible. Political pundits rejoice that the President “didn’t give an inch” which is way overblown again because of no new taxes on the wealthy class.

The Democrats

The liberal Democrats feel short changed, and were threatened by a crisis that was perpetrated by their opponents the Tea Party. On the chopping block is defense cut spending in the new bill for the first time since 1990 the military expenditures will be cut which could affect veteran’s pensions and benefits.

A new committee called the SUPER COMMITTEE made up of by-partisan members will be in charge of tallying up the savings to the government, in this new deal and the devil is in the details.

The Super Committee- Yes When Pigs Fly

If this committee has the power to increase taxes, ensure spending is reduced without harming American families then all the power to it.  If not, it will be a tangled mess until the 2012 Election finalizes what Americans feel about how this all went down.

The Tea Party

Under threatening the country into default the Tea party accomplished their goal and to their base they may seem like heroes, but to the voting public they are doomed in 2012. It was a one shot deal and they pulled the trigger which threatens their own future in government.

The Tea Party took control of the GOP which conservatives deny and their unity as a party is questionably disjointed.  The new radicals also performed an example of extortion, bullying, threatening and stamping their feet until they got their own way. In their own fantasy world they remain heroes to the cause, crusaders for the protectionism of the wealthy class who are funding their endeavors and pulling their puppet strings.

It is God Father Politics in the republican party but then again it always was funded by rich conservatives like the Koch Brothers.  They feel entitled to keep the lower classes at bay and continue to control the majority of wealth in the United States.

Government By Hostage Taking, Government By Force-Godfather Politics and Threats
The Republicans

Not a word was spoken from the 2012 Presidential candidates, Mitt Romney hid under a rock, Newt Gingrich was probably off to France for another vacation and Herman Cain was pro-Tea Party radicals.

Republican Candidates for President

Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum remained silent not voicing any support for even conservatives that were suffering the financial consequences of a dire crisis.  These gutless candidates silently supported their party by shutting their mouths, fearing that taking sides would harm their chances in 2012.

Conservatives chastised their brothers in the Tea Party with speeches from John McCain calling them “Bizzaro’s” and his disapproval spoke for the rest of the republican silent majority. The GOP’s been hijacked and are weaker as a result moving forward their dysfunctional policies threaten a defeat and losing the house in 2012.

The Economy

As a result of this forced, distraction from jobs, growth and the economy, Americans have lost precious time, the pressures of unemployment benefits running out and more foreclosures in the housing industry.  More of the middle class will move to the poverty level, more losses to their investments, savings and their future in a stagnate economy.

The Economy Sucks

All Indicators are for a Sluggish, slow, jobless economy, with high unemployment and none of the measures in this debt deal do anything to improve the economy.  During recessions cutting spending is the wrong way to go, economists have said and cutting spending will reverse what little gain has been made since 2008.

The stock market will continue to vary up and down but rallied when a deal was announced. The Asian markets rebounded but how long will be determined by the stymied government struggle for power by the Tea Party and the Democratic President.

In short, nothing gained in this bizzaro faked crisis which fizzed out as a plan to make Obama a one term President which has failed. The plan actually made Obama a stronger candidate to win in 2012 when he said the debt default was not an option.

The White House spin of a win, is not being accepted by all Americans very readily and again the bill is still not signed. Previous bi-partisan committees have failed and this Super Committee will probably do the same, triggers or no triggers. Another debt default is far away but a struggling economy is still not the focus of either party.
