A new feature from Google, unworthy of their more pressing needs of handling privacy issues and spam in Gmail is a feature called :
As Google is monitoring your every move now and knows the color of your underwear, what coffee you drink at Starbucks, what car you drive they now can sum up you profile.
Here’s what Google says about Account Activity:
Today we’re introducing Account Activity, a new feature in your Google Account. If you sign up, each month we’ll send you a link to a password-protected report with insights into your signed-in use of Google services.
For example, my most recent Account Activity report told me that I sent 5 percent more email than the previous month and received 3 percent more. An Italian hotel was my top Gmail contact for the month. I conducted 12 percent more Google searches than in the previous month, and my top queries reflected the vacation I was planning: [rome] and [hotel].
You can check this all out in your Gmail account and detect security issues and other stuff. Google can now track all of your account activities with them, tie them together and come up with a profile of who you are, what you like, what your interests are and who you talk to on a daily basis. It is like having a private investigator following you around on the net.
The whole idea is to track your interests, so that Google can present you as a potential buyer to its advertisers. Unfortunately, for many people they don’t like this invasion of privacy, and you can’t blame them. With the US government spying on the internet, forcing Internet Providers and sites like Twitter to hand over account histories, it will kill off business and already has done so.
Many users are using nontraditional browsers like Start Page, TOR or DuckDuckGo to stop this insidious “Tracking Business” and get all these nosey people out of your hair!
By starting another tool, Google is just looking for your input on whether you agreet with their “assumptions of your life” your profile and they’ve already figured out how to Profit from you.
So, its the Game of : Tracking Account Activity today, and hopefully after the big search engines track you to death, they will tire of it and go do something more constructive.
