Santorum-Your Conditioned to Buy an iPad

Santorum-Your Conditioned to Buy an iPad

Rick Santorum believes Americans are more conditioned to buy an iPad than to buy health care insurance. Coming after his three wins of Minnesota that voted in Michelle Bachmann which is not a plus in the win column for the GOP candidate.

Medicine was never a for profit making venture, the services of providing medical care to citizens of a country in some countries is paid for by taxes such as in Canada. The federal government pitches in a portion of healthcare and also the provinces (or states) pay for medical coverage through provincial taxes.

Healthcare around the World:

The Canadian system works to provide health care coverage for all Canadians under a universal plan and includes all the disabled, the elderly, all children rich or poor are covered, unlike the United States. In the US, your opportunity for medical coverage is determined by how much money you have or don’t have.

In this clip, Rick Santorum castigates a mother who has a son on scizophrenia medication that costs millions of dollars and says to her  she’s being conditioned to go out and buy an ipad instead of providing for her son’s care which was never the case.

Santorum’s own words:

“All I can say is we look and this is a very big danger in this country, we look at healthcare differently.  They’ve conditioned you to look at it differently. People have no problem going out and buying an iPad for $ 900.00.

But to pay  $900.00 for a drug- they have a problem. It keeps you alive.  Why? Because you’ve been condition to think that health care is something you get and not have to pay for”.

How has this Conditioning Take Shape?

Americans have been paying for health care all along and where does Santorum’s health care come from, the taxpayer pays for it.

Sam Seder of Majority TV provides a glimpse into the mind of Rick Santorum who states that we’re being conditioned to buy iPads and not paying for out own healthcare.

As Seder points out he pays: $ 4,000.00 per quarter to pay for his and his families health care multiplied by 3 that equals $12,000.00 annually. As he says “where is the conditioning” when Americans pay more per capita than any other country in the world.”

Who is conditioned to believe we deserve medical coverage when we’ve paid for it all along.

The amount is outrageously high, in a country like the USA that has the highest health care costs in the world. As a percentage of cost per our Gross Domestic Product Americans spend the highest in the world for health care.

Rick Santorum was only one senator that voted to ban Canadian drug imports that are cheaper for Americans.

The taxpayer pays for Rick Santorum’s healthcare and that of his family they are all covered on your dime.

It is impossible for US families to keep their heads above water with skyrocketing health care costs, when all of their savings if they had any is going into getting health care coverage in case they get sick. The health care insurance industry are gouging families and Americans are paying through the nose.

The “conditioning” comes from the twisting of the facts that is going on in Rick Santorum’s stump speeches and he actually is protecting drug companies who are making record breaking profits. Santorum actually is telling Americans “don’t expect to get any healthcare coverage even if you are already paying for it”.

We hope that Santorum has done his homework and becomes familiar with the fact that providing emergency costs in hospitals to help those who have no healthcare coverage is far more expensive than covering all Americans under one plan.

But Rick Santorum has been conditioned to ignore the facts.
