Sarah Palin has gone fishing- catching salmon and taking a few days off after announcing her resignation as the Governor of Alaska with almost one year and a half left in her term.
The FBI are making statements that she is not under investigation currently. Although we do not know or have the real story yet -the media is working on it. Reporters are speaking to Alaska residents and have descended on Wasilla to find out more information because inquiring minds want to know the real reason she is quitting. Why is the media doing this-because Palin’s reasons left many unanswered questions such as “is she planning a run at President of the United States in 2012?”.
The timing of the announcement could not have been better and was on the eve of the 4th of July weekend when you want to bury a story you do it at this time. The GOP is already reeling from Mark Sanford of South Carolina who announced his own infidelity and his political career is very badly damaged. Many from both sides are calling for Sanford to resign but he is fighting to hang on while spending the holiday with his in-laws.
Sarah Palin’s premature retirement is questioned by many in the Republican party and supporters after her statement on Friday that she is resigning her position as Governor of Alaska.
Reasons for the resignation are many and amongst them are: money problems, or just quitting or is she lining herself up for a run in 2012 – is any one’s guess or was it the 12 million dollar book deal on a book that is not yet written yet. This lull will give Sarah time to write the book that has been negotiated and the advance has been paid. Palin sights legal fees amounting to the hundred’s of thousands of dollars to defend herself from charges of corruption could be another reason to resign.
