Rick Warren religious based questions and answers was filling in some time while we waited for Michael Phelps to win his 8th Gold Metal at the China Olympic Games tonight.
Obama -McCain Question and Answers on Rick Warren
Best selling author Rick Warren who has sold over 1 million of his own books and is a pastor held the Q&A tonight based on four areas of questions in this faith based forum. The Rick Warren Obama McCain debate was well underway as Obama won a coin toss and went first.
McCain was said to be in the “cone of silence” nearby but within earshot of Obama’s voice and was said to be listening intently to Obama’s eloquent answers.
Warren posed questions on leadership, stewardship, world view, compassion issues and their vision for America.
Now recently the Evangelicals have attacked Obama but not John McCain on his religious upbringing. No one knows what religion brought us John McCain the adult and what influences from when he was six years old have shaped him to be the man he is today.
Obama on all the right wing religious sites has been cursed as the “ anti-Christ” based on his popularity, and the great number of people who voted for him. We are not talking about preaching here he is a candidate for a public office not a church.
What the religious right should consider is that the American voter is so sick and tired of a do nothing government while our economy tanked and oil prices are destroying family life in America. This means there are greater numbers of the dissatisfied today than in 2004 and mainly democrats that felt cheated on the last election which was decided by a Republican Supreme Court.
The Cone of Silence in disbelief of the corruption which led to this decision where the court decides an election. Yet the Evangelicals are against the courts making laws and interpreting wrongly the constitution which seems contradictory.
From the sounds of Warren’s probe it sounded more like a job interview with such questions as “ what is the most difficult decision you have made and how did you make it?”. Questions like that could have been answered on a resume and did not add much depth into a man’s character. Why do you want to be President is another great question which leads to a long drawn out stump speech which is what McCain articulated in this purpose driven debate.
We can expect and we got pro-life questions like when does life begin? What is the definition of marriage which was aimed at excluding gay marriage.
Do you support making an amendment to the constitution to define marriage? You have to go back for the last 8 years we have had George W. Bush a self professed Evangelical follower. Since then we were wrongly led and lied to about invading Iraq and Afghanistan on the pretense of capturing Ben Laden and doing a regime change in Iraq by deposing Saddam Hussein.
George Bush opposed abortions but was responsible for killing 4,144 American souls and over 194,000 Iraq citizens have been killed not mentioning allied troop deaths of other countries.
You have to rationalize how a President can be pro-life and wage an invasion based on doctored and tainted intelligence?
You have to rationalize how a President can be pro-life and wage an invasion based on doctored and tainted intelligence?
You also have to take into consideration that George Bush is a Evangelical Christian that provoked the instability of the middle east and waged economic hardships on the families of the United States, sending gas prices into orbit and leaving a heavy debt load to the next two generations namely our grandchildren owing China billions of our children’s money.
Basically we learned nothing new and John McCain’s answers were the same stump speech we have heard for months. We have to drill offshore, we have to let General Petraeus will guide us to victory in Iraq, and the same old stump speech my friends.
Key phrases from John McCain are “yes I was in a prison camp in Vietnam ..radical Islamic extremists, central battleground is Bagdad” and more George Bush rhetoric. McCain touted his years of pro-life anti-abortion, anti-gay positions and really tried hard to convince us he was a Republican.
Well there was no shining moment the audience was obviously Republican and they have the divine right to decide who is our next President same as last time.

I agree I heard also the saber rattling of ” following Ben Laden to the gates of Hell”. Interesting that the Republicans couldn’t get the job done in the past 8 years.
In watching the 2 candidates answer these questions, which differed somewhat between each man, I believed Obama responded to the questions and McCain told “anecdotes”, trying to distract Warren with humor (which Warren allowed), weaving around on the “rich definition” question, and in general, avoiding any succinct or responsive answers. I felt Warren allowed McCain to campaign instead of answer the questions.
