August 12, 2010 The FDA is up to its ears in drug recalls, tainted food, corruption scandals but still has the time to try to unravel the President’s executive order on stem cell research in America the land of the free. While the FDA panel of supreme judges allowed Avandia to still be sold on the market although it causes heart attacks in diabetes patients is beyond reason. Why the FDA chose to shut down Dr. Weil, invade Amish farms on raw milk and is now targeting a Denver Doctor’s clinic for conducting stem cell treatments and research. The complete utter nonsense going on at the FDA should be under investigation. It is clear by this patient’s testimony of Regenexx Clinic in Denver that the therapy works very well.
This week we are treated to the fact that the FDA is taking a US doctor specialist to court to stop him from researching adult stem cells in his US clinic. The Vatican on the other hand is funding this same research that the FDA is trying to shut down. In fact they are in defiance of the President’s Executive order. Editors Note: The FDA and the Obama administration should be on the same page and it is clear that one hand does not know what the other said. Perhaps if the FDA actually did their job which is to protect the food supply and judging from the number of increased food recalls -clearly the FDA is not doing their job.

Dumping BP Oil’s Brand
The BP Brand has been forever been tainted by its reckless abandonment of safety and ignorance of how safety regulations are there for the greater good.
Many gas station owners are weighing the pro’s and cons of dumping the oil giants logo, branding itself as a green energy producer and to stem the drop in revenues and perceived negative aspects of their explosions and oil spills in Alaska, Texas and the Gulf. Sales have declined up to 40 percent from the southern states of Florida up to the northern states such as Illinois. BP has their annual convention of executives in October 2010 and this will be a topic of policy changes sure to be discussed.
Three strikes and your out as far as Americans go because they are boycotting BP gas stations as a result of corporate failures. BP’s sending Tony Hayward to Siberia was one good move, however more changes in direction are needed at the corporate level. Insurance companies are charging 50 percent more to cover risks on deep oil drilling as a result of the careless explosion.
BP’s corporate decision to ignore safety to increase profits is their main problem and whomever approved of the Deepwater Horizon rig proceed needs their head examined. The brand is dead and as dead as the many birds, wildlife, fish and Louisiana’s economy in particular. In fact BP’s brand has tainted Louisiana’s brand of seafood, while consumes are leery of buying Louisiana oysters, crabs and other delicacies with the sunken oil and dispersants dumped into the Gulf for 100 days. The oil should be capped any day now but what about the sunken plumes that BP denied even existed? The company has tarnished its views and continues to deny wrongdoing and even asks for an 11 billion dollar tax break for the clean up costs!! Outrageously they avoid biting the bullet that shot themselves in the heart.
Conclusion: BP needs to spend money not on commercials praising itself on the billions it has cost to clean up their own mess, but should gear itself towards a truly green energy marketing strategy thrusting this lost giant into the next decade. BP’s only hope is to begin a complete overhaul of their product line, and dump fossil fuels for good. If it did BP would regain its brand, sell billions of dollars of cleaner energy products and make profits the right way.
Newsweek Politics
Politicol News Summary This Week
This week June 13 to 20th, 2010 in the news we saw and heard Tony Hayward the CEO of BP deny negligence and responsibility that his company initiated when they ignored warnings on April 20, 2010. We also were shocked by the apology of Joe Barton who later apologized for his apology but the damage was done. The GOP quickly distanced themselves from Joe and many are calling him to step down as he is the senior Republican of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
This is the reason why BP Oil was able to operate with no restrictions in the Gulf in their deliberate attempt to cut costs by cutting safety. It is not up to the USA to dictate safety and BP could have instituted their own safety measurements and installed an acoustic blow out preventer and a back up system by building a secondary relief well -just in case they should happen to overlook the rules. BP had its own responsibilities to their own shareholders to regulate itself according to the best practices available today but it refused and therefore BP was negligent.
The need for government regulations to be ramped up could not be clearer or more symbolized by the BP Oil spill of April 20th, 2010 and the Tea Party et al have remained mysteriously silent. If you were to be guided by the comments from the Tea Party favorites like Rand Paul you would know he is not competent enough to make national decisions. Rand Paul thinks BP was drilling in international waters and were perfectly acceptable although their track record proves differently. Rand Paul thinks Obama was too hard on BP Oil and if the Tea Party candidates were in the House or in Congress today -you would see BP get away without a 20 billion dollar escrow fund, or the additional 100 million dollar account to provide the clean up funds.
Businesses such as the fishing industry, tourism, food, restaurants, and state taxes in four US southern states are all losing money big time due to the 62 days of the Oil leak. BP lied about the amounts from 1,000, 5,000, 17,000 to now 60,000 barrels of oil each day spilling into the Gulf of Mexico. Birds, fish, and the eco-system of the Gulf are dying off in greater numbers. The dispersant BP uses Corexit 9500 has been dumped in the gulf to the tune of over 1.5 million gallons which is a solvent that sinks the oil to the bottom of the sea.
The EPA, the MMS and the US coast guard all agreed with this dispersant to be used and said to hell with the consequences but it did not work. Sinking the oil to the bottom only makes it harder to clean up, out of sight and out of mind is the easy way out but not effective or ecologically sound. Obama is misguided and naive if he believes this solvent will not further damage the gulf and kill off a food supply for Americans.
The US Judicial System and BP Oil
The news continues with the politics of oil and each day we are reminded of how wrong the path is to continue with fossil fuels, and continue with dangerous, reckless corporations while our judicial system corrupts the events even further.
Two judges in particular deserve to be condemned are US District Judge Kenneth M. Hoyt who gave BP a gift of 100 million dollars by eliminating the punitive damages in the BP Texas explosion. Mr Hoyt didn’t think the 10 workers were injured enough and that BP was not grossly negligent. In that case BP only received a slap on the wrist and a 50 million dollar fine -that is all. Punitive damages are there for a reason -to punish the guilty party- namely the large corporation BP Oil which continued to violate state and federal laws in 2010.
This is why BP is shopping for judges in Texas -they received favorable reductions in punitive damages however, had Judge Hoyt left the punitive damages intact it might have deterred the Gulf Oil explosion from happening at all. Although the verdict was set out by the initial trial this judge reduced the 100 million dollars to zero. No punishment -no incentive to stop illegal activities while drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico.
The second judge US District Judge Rusell Holland in Alaska reduced Exxon’s damages to less that one billion dollars for the 11 million gallons dumped into the Alaska shoreline by a drunken captain of their carrier. Alaska fisherman, businesses and their environment never completely recovered – even 30 years later.
The practice of theses US District Court judges are doing the tax payers no benefit or good but essentially are helping corporations get away with extremely damaging oil spills. These judges are costing tax payers billions of dollars while their corporate allies remain unscathed in the legal system of reduced awards. The injured and dead Americans -15 in Texas and 11 in the Gulf are without justice and without compensation for the loss of life partners and the children remained without a breadwinner. This costs the country, the taxpayer and the health care system enough to warrant a new law that forbids the reduction of punitive damages that were previously awarded by a jury or a judge. There must be more deterrents in the system of US courts and there must be adherence to punishment for major acts of environmental pollution or causing death or harm to innocent victims.
BP is out judge shopping this week to pick a friend who will go easy on them in the hundreds of civil lawsuits pending against BP Oil by moving all cases to the State of Texas for a particular judge to preside over the cases. One judge in Texas is Judge Lynn Hughes – hand picked by BP Oil. Since when does the plaintiff get to pick their own judge?
Again it is up to Louisiana which has the rightful jurisdiction to hear all cases against BP not Texas where favors will be backhanded to BP to reduce their costs. After all it was cost cutting that caused the BP Oil Leak in the first place. Tougher regulations must be backed up by tougher judicial decisions and not allow favors and corruption to continue to pollute the US court system. Judges are supposed to uphold the law not give favor to corporate interests and investigations must be thorough to discover any financial or relationship connections between BP Oil and US court judges at every level.
May 17 to May 21, 2010
What a week it has been with the BP Oil Leak continuing to destroy the Gulf of Mexico and BP Oil the largest conglomerate of oil producers can not figure out how to stop it.
Stop the oil is the number one threat to the United States and Obama has to step in and shut down this leak.
It has become the type of question that begs to be asked ” has man gone too far in his quest for oil?”. Has BP Oil gone too far in exceeding its greed to the point where it can no longer save itself from the damages it has initiated?”. Why are the oil companies not drilling on land and why are they risking destruction of our oceans for profitable gain? Why doesn’t BP embrace green energy instead of continuing with ancient fossile fuels that will inevitably lead to more damages to the earth.
The questions continue to be asked on how government has allowed these excesses in oil technology without studying, the ramifications of its own destructive demise?
How does pouring 500,000 gallons of a toxic oil dispersant into the Gulf help clean up the oil when the solvents used are more harmful to man, fish, birds and land than the oil?
How does the oil mixing with that dispersant create another mixture in itself that will be harder to remove?
Who authorized BP Oil to use a dispersant that simply sinks the oil to the bottom or helps it spread by isolating the droplets of oil making it harder to remove?
Who’s heads should roll- in allowing this type of drilling to 5,000 feet only 50 miles off the US coast?
Who would have thought Rand Paul was stupid enough to think this drilling was in international waters? Who was stupid enough to vote for Rand Paul in Kentucky?
Why doesn’t President Obama have the fortitude to put it politely – to send in the army, navy, and military to clean up the oil and send the bill to BP Oil instead of letting BP oil take control of this mess?
Surely there are answers to these questions but it all boils down to corporate control over government agencies and its not just the EPA or the Minerals Management Services it is the National Transportation and Service Administration and the FDA to name a few.
Obama needs to clean house completely of financial ties to corporate interests including campaign contributions now before any further corruption threatens Americans.
Obama has to have this as his first priority not how Hamid Karsai is laughing at the US for spending so much money on protecting a country that sells illicit drugs and funds the Taliban.
So much of the woes of the United States is tied to corporate control of the government through lobbyists, campaign contributions, the influence peddling, and corporate dictating to a government riddled with politicians who are self interested and not working for the people.
The evidence is here and now in the news from the coal mining explosions from Massey Energy who escaped 400 violations to Alliance Coal Resource Partners in Kentucky where the mine caved in due to violations against regulations.
These regulations are there to protect workers, protect people who live nearby and to protect the environment for future generations. All the teabaggers who have invested time railing against regulations are railing against their fellow Americans.
Rand Paul may have won a primary however the fat lady has not sung her final song and people are getting a glimpse into the Rand Paul who is going rogue on the Republican Party.

THE NEWS RECAP
March 1 to March 6, 2010
Gay Sex at the Vatican, the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, shooting at the Pentagon and the busy week ahead to push health care reform for the Obama administration has made this a very busy week for the news media. So many stories that have a ring to them and that is that -religion and government are tainted with their own sins. The Republican Party has made it their personal vendetta to stop any new laws or legislation that threaten the wealthy including the wealthy corporations that feed off of taxpayers. This is their strategy for regaining power at the expense of American lives that would have been saved with some medical attention. Instead the poor die and the strong survive -it has become a world of “survival of the fittest” and the average American is losing ground keeping up with the price of living.
Religion on the other hand starting with the Catholic Church in its demagoguery does not tolerate gay marriage however one of its own has been exposed yesterday for engaging in sexual relationships with gay prostitutes. This story will be attempted to be buried as soon as it hits the mainstream media because the Catholic Church will demand its removal from the news. The Catholic Church as also cut off benefits to the Catholic Charity organization for gay couples – no health care coverage for gays in the Church. These are just a few examples of these two very political forces punishing and plundering those who do not tow the line and conform to their beliefs.
The similarities to a Nazi regime draws us to conclude that the freedoms of Americans are being trampled and dissolved into the Germany of the 1930′s as we stare into the future with great disbelief. The vaccination program ordered by the CDC ” as a crisis experiment” is forcing vaccinations on all our youth. Similar to the branding and tattooed the Jewish people before the gas chambers were burning human bodies.
In the 1930′s it began with a Germany boycotting Jewish merchant shops and to the completion where Jews were stuffed into gas ovens, starved, and left to die or murdered. Six million people were blamed for the economic problems of the country before they were brutally murdered by the supreme white race.
The Jews were shunned out of German society left out to die -segregation was installed to forbid marriages to Jews, Jewish children were removed from schools similar to non-vaccinated children who cannot go to school because they didn’t receive “the mark” and deadly vaccines filled with carcinogens. The Jewish people lost their homes, their businesses their farms and their livelihood the same as Americans are losing their homes through foreclosures, and losing jobs because banks stole all their money and now losing their very chance at health and medical care.
The thirst for power has become the extreme in American society just as Adolf Hitler cracked down on the Jewish it is the poor, the old, the young and the middle aged Americans basically all Americans who are being attacked on all sides by the government and religious organizations.
The power struggle today is between people and corporations and the war is on everyone’s mind. Someone who supported the war in Iraq 8 years ago would not care what government they have today. The financial burden of these wars have drained the US economy and placed the debt on the shoulders of our children.
Updated weekly commentary on the news of the week for political pundits.
Feb. 15 -Feb 19, 2010 Plane Suicide in Austin to Iran Making Nuclear Bombs
This week we are treated to the apology from Tiger Woods, and finding out Iran is making a nuclear rocket, while in the home stretch an angry software engineer mad at the IRS drove his plane into the IRS building in Austin, Texas. The News just continues to get worse for the Obama blighted administration as it grapples with its own incompetency and failures at governing the wars, the economy, job losses and approving massive vaccine campaigns in Denver schools. The Guantamo detainees are still in Cuba, Wall Street gave itself billions of dollars in bonuses while laughing at the poor, dumb voters who thought they were getting change in 2009. If republicans think this will swing back to favor for their party they are sadly mistaken. Both parties are held in contempt by disgusted voters and people like Joe Stack. The Joe Stack’s of the world have had enough.
January 11 -15th, 2010 The Week in Politics
This week in News Week our new category for news updates we find that Sarah Palin has made a career move, Conan O’Brien is also considering leaving NBC due to the insane number of changes to his time slot. It has been a disaster for Haiti the island was rocked by a major earthquake registering 7.0 on the scale and more after shocks literally decimating the country to the ground including the Presidential Palace.
Sarah Palin Politics was the best news her followers have heard in a long time since the Book Tour that Sarah Palin has joined Fox News as a contributor to their ongoing series in news features. Her debut with Bill O’ Reilly was a yawn and he really did not defend her against the comments from Steve Schmidt who stated she was dim witted and knew nothing about foreign affairs. We guess she will study up on that -as she presents her side of things in her new feature “The World According to Sarah Palin” or at least as she perceives it in her own foxy way.
Rush Limbaugh Politics- Well Rush is back in his chair and out of the hospital where he said the USA had the best health care in the world, as he dodged a bullet in an apparent heart attack. The fat guy never really did come clean as to what was physically wrong with him that led him to the emergency ward of a Hawaii hospital. Some speculate he had experienced an adverse reaction to drugs he was consuming and others contributed it to his affection for fat cuban cigars. No one is telling us any news but Rush Limbaugh survived this one -so far.
Democrat Politics- President Obama reacted to the Wall Street Bonus Round where executives have given themselves over 18 billion dollars in bonus money for 2009 and they think they deserve it. Yet we haven’t seen any new legislation preventing executive bonuses using taxpayers money and the money that disappeared in 2008 and 2007 when Bush doled out the cash to prop up the financial sector. The money disappeared into thin air because there were no accounting of who has those funds. Again Americans have been sadly fooled into thinking Wall Street has your best interest at heart.
Luckily The Huffington Post came to the rescue with a new scheme called “Move Your Money” which gives you a list of your local community credit unions and local independent banks with good credit ratings -so you can take your money out of the Wall Street banks and teach them a lesson. Move your Money is big on Twitter and many people are video taping their withdrawal of their own money from the big banks. They are honing their skills on taking back the money -as in taking back the night.
Gay Marriage is on the books again with another court battle in the bankrupt state of California again if this does not pass in the state courts it will end up in the Supreme Court as it should have in the first place. It has been proven that this California law is against the Constitution of the United States and that majorities cannot decide who gets legal title and rights especially dictating rights to a minority. Its just not right. In other news we reported the Gubinator of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has been crying poor and asking for a federal bailout since his state is sinking in debt with no relief in sight as people are moving to Arizona due to the lousy economy in what was once a very rich state. At the same time Schwarzenegger took in over $ 800,000 in campaign contributions from Chevron while allowing them to escape extraction taxes. Did Arnold miss math class in college, oh yes the part about no money coming in – no money to pay for things? Who ever voted this guy in as Governor, was probably the same type of people that voted for Sarah Palin.
That wraps up our weekly take so far, more news to come later.
