John McCain’s Desertion of Family and his Wife Carol

John McCain's Ex-Wife He Abandoned When she was Crippled

John McCain's Ex-Wife Carol -He left her for a Richer, Younger Woman

McCain’s Family Values

To know a man you must first see how he treats his dog. The same can be said about how you treat your wife, especially during the hard times. You can tell a lot about people by how they treat or behave with their own family.

You can certainly see this in John McCain’s history with the women in his life and you can see his motivations and strength of character. We know that John McCain went off to war as did his father and ancestry as there are generations of war in the McCain bloodline -war is what they do.McCain espouses “family values” and how important the family is to the American culture and his reputation as a military man. McCain recently changed his opinions towards Pro-Life and equates himself with the Evangelicals in criminalizing doctors and woman.
You heard him angrily saying he would “ storm the gates of hell” to get to Osama Ben Laden to justice although in the last 8 years the Republican administration has failed miserably to even find Ben Laden. This inspite of the fact that in 8 years the Bush administration continues a war in the wrong country, which is continued in McCain’s campaign platform. But there is another side to John McCain that makes us wonder behind the smoke and mirrors what is real about this man?

John McCains First Wife Carol he Married in 1965 and Left her for a Richer Younger Woman

John McCains First Wife Carol he Married in 1965 and Left her for a Richer Younger Woman

John McCain married his first wife in 1965 and her name was Carol Shepp who’s beauty led her to seek a successful career modeling swimwear. He also adopted her children young Douglas and Andrew and had a girl named Sidney a year after they married. By the summer of 1968 John was getting bored with his new marriage and children so he put in a request for combat assignment in Vietnam.

Let us remember that it was the reckless Maverick who chose to go to combat duty, he was not necessary recommended to proceed with overseas combat. This was a voluntary decision on John’s part to leave a young wife and family behind for the glory of war. What is interesting about this phase of John McCain’s ambitions of his own military career along with his fellow pilots as he wrote in his book:
“ In all candor we thought our civilian commanders were complete idiots who didn’t have the least notion of what it took to win the war”.Less that a year later McCain went to Vietnam in 1967 and was a navy pilot bombing Hanoi from the air regularly, one day he crashed and went down with his plane in enemy territory. A Vietnam civilian saved him from drowning in the plane and he was later beaten and captured by the North Vietnamese.”For all those years Carol waited patiently for news of her husband and devotedly raised their children during their formative years as she lived her life without her husband. Virtually as a single mom for the eight years of John’s absence she raised their children alone.

Cindy McCain was Richer and Younger than His first Wife

In 1969 during the Christmas holidays, Carol had a terrible car accident on a slippery road and crashed the car, suffering massive internal injuries and she was left disfigured. She had one arm and her pelvis shattered in the accident on an icy road leaving her with a permanent limp in her walk. Carol had to spend 6 months of her own torture, in a hospital undergoing 23 critical surgical operations to save her life again without her husband.

She lost sections of bones that were too damaged to repair and was confided to a wheelchair and a catheter. Carol has learned through sheer determination to walk again despite this life altering accident and the absense of a husband.

Upon John McCain’s return in 1973 to the States he got a handshake from Richard Nixon and found his wife not as beautiful as he had left her before the war. McCain by this time was not as beautiful either having both arms, a fractured leg and a crush shoulder as well as other injuries. Seemingly you would think they would both restore their battered lives together as a family.

But John McCain chose to chase other women, drink heavily and party heavily with his military buddies after they returned home. Whether it was his dissatisfaction with his wife, or his own personal crisis he began to elevate his own lifestyle. He drank a lot, went to many parties and met and became friends with Ross Perot who introduced him to Ronald Reagan the governor of California. A car accident involving John McCain has been sealed by the Navy and there is a law suit to release the records of this accident which are currently underway by Vanity Fair Magazine.

McCain through his own admission strayed from his marriage, his family obligations and his children and began to seek more of his own ambitions while living in Florida with his wife.

In 1979 at a cocktail party he met Cindy Hensley in Hawaii and pursued her vigorously while flying around the country to be with her while still married to Carol. He deserted his post at home for higher and richer women due to his own ambitions.Cindy after all was an heiress to a fortune and the attraction became quite solid to the point of John having to make a decision. This astounded even the Reagan’s as they were all friends and were quite fond of Carol and John McCain. John McCain’s marriage came to an end in 1980 by John McCain seeking a divorce from his wife Carol to marry Cindy who is 18 years younger and a very rich heiress.
Carol McCain was left now disabled received the Florida beach house, the “right to live” in their jointly owned townhouse in Alexandria, Washington, alimony and child support. How does this man John McCain who remains idolized for his character and strength during the tough times of being held a prisoner of war rationalize leaving his wife and children when they deserved better. Many prisoners return home from war to a loving family and commence re-building their lives and families not deserting them for their own personal goals of wealth and gain.Today Carol McCain speaks little of her marriage to John McCain and she walks with a pronounced limp with her body held together with pins and screws. Carol has kept her silence about their marriage and subsequent divorce until recently and at age 70 she leads a quite life. Ross Perot who paid all Carol’s medical bills does not agree with the war hero and maverick image of John McCain’s and his ambitions to become the President of the United States.

John McCain wants to continue the war in Iraq for more war glory that he missed out on in Vietnam due to his own capture. John McCain believes we have an endless supply of money such as he has with his wife Cindy and we can continue to borrowed from the Chinese while mortgaging our grandchildren in debt so we can fulfill his dreams of glory in Iraq.

His ambition to become the President of the United States is to re-live his years in the military
and become the hero he never was as Commander in Chief. The aim to continue the war in Iraq is clearly seen as a way to redeem himself in his own mind.

What an amazing story! This is the very first I read of this and literally had no idea. Wow! He really is as shallow as I thought. Family Values?

  2. Politicol says:

It is all true from the accounts of his friends and his ex-wife. She has no reason to lie, he does. Anything to win the election.
