John McCain on The Real Mitt Romney

Romney received a good scathing rebuke from Senator John McCain in the 2008 Presidential election and back in 2001 before the Winter Olympics.

Back when Romney asked for several hundred million dollars to bailout the 2002 Olympics which turned into 1.3 billion dollars and was over budget, McCain lashed out at his pork barrel projects with a vengeance. Most of the money went to Romney’s friends in Salt Lake City and the Mormon church.

In this brief clip:

McCain goes after Romney’s record as Governor where he raised taxes by 730 million dollars, and called it a “Fee”.

John McCain said of Mitt Romney:

On Romney’s Flip Flopping

“He’s totally consistent, he’s had exactly two positions on every issue”.

On Running Bain Capital

“You managed companies, you bought and you sold and sometimes people lost their jobs, I didn’t manage for profits, I led for patriotism”.

On Romney’s Fiscal Responsibility:

“That bill for the Winter Olympics will be 1.3 Billion Dollars …1.3 that’s outrageous Mr. President and it’s a disgrace”.

On Romney’s Flip Flopping:

“I haven’t changed my position on even numbered years or have changed because of the different offices that I may be running for”.

“on every issue it’s a matter of record”.
