We assume that President Bush did not think the FDA was a high priority and dismantled it during the last eight years and it may explain their complete incompetence today. The FDA needs a “major overhaul” starting from the top down. Eliminating all former drug company executives who make decisions and affect policy is a good start. There are plenty of experienced graduates who can fill those positions who are not looking after the profits of drug companies but rather actually doing the work the FDA was created to accomplish. Protecting children, adults and seniors from any type of danger from either food or drugs which would require a completely unbiased approval system. Drugs these days are being pushed out the door without independent testing rather the FDA accepts the tests the drug companies provide as proof. The system has gone haywire- and we need change now!! Thank you for your comment.

You pose a good question. What really is going on at the FDA? One thing for sure is that they have suddenly decided to go after certain companies and products that have been on the market for years. Cheerios, Lasik, Zicam among them. If something poses a threat or danger to us, the FDA needs to explain what is taking so long to warn the public. The whole thing is a waste of taxpayer money the way the agency is operated now. When is the FDA going to get a much needed overhaul? It’s a disgrace, full of conflicts of interest and corruption. And they want me to trust them with my own stem cells? I think not thank you.
