Dr. Feinerman’s Response to CNN Interview

Dear staff of Politicol News:

Thanks for publishing the thoughtful observations of viewers criticizing the sensationalism journalism of CNN. I was approached by CNN with the pretext they wanted to interview me about specific stem cell treatments for a number of incurable diseases. Thinking this would valuable for the public to learn I agreed to the interview even though I was on my way to treat patients in Peru.

Dr. Burton Feinerman Responds to CNN Interview on Stem Cell

When the interview started and I tried to talk about the exact methods we utililize Drew Griffin cut me off.
When he acted that he was doubtful about my training and I started to speak about my years at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester,Minnesota; my experience in the laboratory with cancer immunotherapy at the Papaniculau Institute; my fifty years of medical excellence in private practice; Drew Griffin gave me no time to mention my association with the American Society of Hematology and Stem Cells; Society of Cardiac Translational Medicine; Society of Blood and Bone Marrow Transplantation; Society of Apheresis; Sopciety of Cranial Transplants and Brain Repair.

He accused me of the fees that patients were being charged when in reality they covered five days of hospital room charges, operating room use, neurosurgeon or other specialist, OR and floor nurses, x-ray technician, interpreters, local transportation, lab fee, culturing of the stem cells and their cryopreservation resulting in a fee that matched their charges from me.

The most ironic feature is that StemCellRegenMed and I have tried to get in contact with Sanjay Gupta, M.D. , CNN medical correspondent, whom I deeply respect to offer free treatment for Peruvian children brain damaged from industrial pollutants (which Dr. Gupta had presented an hour long program and three months later still have not gotten a response).  Mr. Fitzpatrick and Drew Griffin promised to assist me in contacting Dr. Gupta but have remained silent since the interview.

We had agreed to allow Dr. Gupta to carefully look over our protocol and get his approval before we administered chelation and later administered neuron stem cells and nerve growth factors into their central nervous systems.
The real shame is that the interview could have been a great revelation and learning process for the American public but instead was nothing more than their attempt to discredit good work and professiona doctors with high ideals, skills and morals.

StemCellRegenMed has numerous well trained M.D.s and a peer group of Ph.D Molecular Biologists. It is good to see how so many people could see through their phony editorial deletions and how they were focused only on a destructive venue. I wonder how they would feel if a member of their family had ALS, Parkinsonism, Alzheimers, spinal cord injury, advanced cancer, advanced diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), kidney disease on dialysis, rheumatoid arthritis etc. What would American medicine offer them?

Thanks for allowing me to air out the truth.

Burton Feinerman, M.D.

  1. CNN owes Dr. Feinerman an apology. I repeatedly told their investigative reporter, David Fitzpatrick, that Dr. Feinerman was a respected doctor and that he was barking up the wrong tree. He paid no attention to me whatsoever even though I know Dr. Feinerman well. The Stem Cell Pioneers forum that I co-founded with Jeannine Richardson is a fair and honest forum in its reporting of any doctor or clinic that is not doing treatments that are safe and appropriate for the disease being treated. We have professionals that include doctors, researchers, and PhD’s that participate on the forum and feel that we have a reputation for digging deep if there is any indication of a problem. We have had no problems with Dr. Feinerman and his credentials are as he says. CNN would have been better off taking the time to check them then writing the nonsensical degrading dialog that Drew used in the interview. I am pleased to see this blog going after CNN because it is well deserved.

It appears it is all over Twitter and messages were sent to each individual department of CNN on Twitter- we got no responses either.

    Dear Politicol,

Quite honestly, I didn’t even know of your existence until I found you on a Google search earlier today. Thanks very much for your insightful comments and for shining a spotlight on this completely asinine segment. Dobbs and Griffin could very well be described as 21st century Luddites, fearing and fighting that which they have no hope — or even desire — of comprehending.

I’m tentatively scheduled for treatment on July 24. The thought had crossed my mind to offer them an opportunity to tag along (with permission from my doctor, of course). But it was only a fleeting thought, since I can already imagine the spin they might put on it and the hatchet job they would likely put on me and my doctor (not Dr. Feinerman, by the way). Not to mention the question: why reward them with a story that they’ve proven they don’t deserve; that they’ve proven they cannot accurately and objectively report? This is what I meant earlier when I said that most patients and doctors simply don’t want to talk to them. You only open yourself up editorial abuse, public scorn and derision with no opportunity to rebut or contest.

With my doctor’s permission, I will capture some short video segments and stills of my treatment. Either way, I will be meticulously charting my data, however things might turn out. (I will have baseline testing done locally on June 17.) There might be a story here for someone with integrity. That someone most certainly won’t be Lou Dobbs or Drew Griffin. It would be nice, though, for some other station to feed them some crow to feast upon. If anybody knows of any possible takers, please let me know and I’ll ask my doctor what he thinks.

I don’t know Dr. Feinerman personally, but I have read his remarks and the remarks of others. Many people have grown to respect and care for this gentleman. I think it’s a travesty that such a good, caring man was so arbitrarily subjected to this type of treatment. What they did was more than unfair; it was downright cruel. And it was painful to even witness it. As I mentioned earlier, it’s little wonder that people just plain don’t want to talk to these hacks.

Please, Dr. Feinerman, take cheer and courage from the fact that you KNOW you are doing good in this world. Your patients know it too. You can take much pride in what you’re doing. Please keep up your fine work, and don’t let the turkeys get you down!

  4. Dear Jim: Thank you for your comments and input and we wish you would consider documenting your treatment as we will certainly report your therapy and feel free to contact us at anytime regarding what your experiences are with stem cell therapy. We wish you good health and the continuation of your goals to reach optimum health through this miraculous therapy. Please keep us informed -and thank you again for spreading the truth.

Internationally there is concern about the quality of reporting in mainstream media in the US. Of course the US is not alone in deterioration of media standards and intelligent people around the world are genuinely concerned. The influence of the media, in support of powerful lobby groups, politically allied industry and – dare I say it – the likes of the FDA and its questionable supporters are damaging the prospects of affordable, timely medical treatment. The scale of the FDA’s authority and budget is such that it impacts on decision making of many drug and device agencies around the world. When the media effectively depletes sound public argument, the future for people with life threatening illness is put at risk internationally.

Hopefully the likes of Politicol News will, with the aid of a well informed public voice, overshadow the noise produced sensational mainstream television media.

I googled “Sierra Journey Factor” just like that and I found a HUGE thing on Fark.com with over 200 messages/blogs regarding Sierra and some of the Horrible things that people say .. that Sierra should DIE so that her genes don’t get passed on and such things like this! People making fun of her name and where we live! Hey but we got people talking!!
People saw the CNN interview and on CNN they told the viewers that we are going to inject Sierra with embryonic stem cells WHICH BY THE WAY CNN they are umbilical stem cells only!
Even though CNN caused such a stir up with things everything all in all it got people talking and we learned even more .. since they wanna think we are “HICKS” or Morons or whatever else they wanna call us Believe it or not we do research things and talk to many people including all of Sierra’s Dr’s and Specialists .. and they are behind us and they are excited to see what will come of this!
We even are in touch now and looking into this Dr we met through this whole CNN crap he is near Tampa and has a specialist in Peru that is doing the same kind of injections with the stem cells except also they are doing Gene therapy with the SMA patients with the SMN gene (survival motor neuron) and unlike China Peru has seen more SMA patients and with the gene therapy the stem cells are working way longer than just the year – year and a half that China said .. options are available … the Peru Dr goes and stays with you the whole time and then when we are back home we have a Dr to consult with unlike China we would not have that option!! So we are looking into things to see what the best route will be for Sierra. People keep saying we are being told its a cure … we know that but we are looking more towads her day to day life … if it would help her live more comfortable that’s all that really matters!

  7. politicol says:

Thank you Shaylene F- – for your comments-it is a disgrace what people are saying about this child-CNN owes Dr. Feinerman an apology and should redo the story accurately and without biased and conflict of interests.

The Drug company revenues that CNN derives -is tainting their “reporting” quality to be baseless and tabloid in nature. We hope that Sierra receives the stem cell therapy that will halt the progression of her disease -which she and her family have the right to persue.
