Dick Cheney Took Matters in his own Hands and Lied to Congress about his Secret Torture Chamber
Dick Cheney kept secrets about torture from Congress through the CIA and the American public which is being investigated by the Attorney General. The Cheney torture investigation is not a broad investigation of anyone who followed orders to torture but the Democrats are calling for a full investigation of the Cheney plan to keep the torture program from Congress.
It is about time the Democrats got some vigor and backbone to stand up and do something about the alledged “secret plans” of the Torture Master himself Dick Cheney.
Dick Durbin the Senate Majority Whip stated this has to “absolutely be investigated and Sen. Dianne Feinstein the democrat from California indicated this was a “big problem”. A big problem? is that the best the democrats can do? It is an illegal act to take a position of considerable power and outright lie which is another definition of hiding the truth from Congress or any other body of government that affects the American people.
Cheney was heavily involved in the torturing of civilian Iraq’s captives some of whom have nothing to do with terrorist groups and some who are being detained were not captured in Iraq. CIA Director Leon Panetta advised people in the intelligence program that Cheney himself told the CIA not to inform Congress. So it appears that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was right all along -she stated the CIA lied to Congress months ago- and was raked over the coals by the media and Leon Panetta for slamming the CIA for covering up Dick’s Cheney’s lies about torturing captured prisoners in Iraq.
For what ever reason the Bush-Cheney chose to lie about and keep the truth from the American people-as a matter of policy -Americans are sick and tired of the Obama administration not doing anything about this illegal activity of the former administration. Did Barack Obama promise the Bush administration not to prosecute the culprits in exchange for some favor? It certainly appears to be a slack Obama administration that is doing nothing to find the truth, expose those who broke the law and punish them. It is about time.
