Alexa Joel Drug Overdose Dec 5, 2009
Alexa Ray Joel was taking to the hospital this evening just hours ago after a friend called (11 since she took approximately 8 pills of a prescription drug in her New York Manhatten apartment.
She is receiving treatment at St. Vincent’s Hospital after police were summoned to her apartment at 12:21 p.m. today and her publicist Claire Mercuri stated Joel was in stable condition this evening.
Alexa Joel is 23 years old and the daughter of famous singer Billie Joel and her mother is Christie Brinkley. It is still unknown whether Alexa took an overdose by accident or was attempting to commit suicide. The singer and songwriter released an album a few years ago which seemed to suggest failed relationships and her struggle with finding a nice guy.
Alexa Joel had a few appearances scheduled in New York and it is unclear whether they will be cancelled. Our hopes for Alexa is a quick and speedy recovery and the hopes that she gets the care she deserves.

This is almost a real tragedy. She was a victim of prescription drugs which are thought to be safe. OxyContin is legal heroin and given out like aspirin.

The fact that Afghanistan makes the world’s opium which is used to make Oxycontin and also finances the Taliban terrorists camps is no coincidence. Oxycontin has caused many deaths and should be taken off the market it is a deadly drug.
